Chiropractor cost without insurance

Dr. Ladd Carlston · Overland Park, KS

$100 for a full 30 minutes. That is my price, including the first visit. If you searched for how much a chiropractor costs without insurance in Kansas City, that is the number. I practice in Overland Park, and people drive in from across the metro. I don’t bill insurance.

The price

$100. A full 30 minutes. The first visit costs the same as the one after it. There is no new-patient surcharge and no package sitting on top of the visit.

You pay for the visit you book. I don’t sell a block of sessions up front, and I don’t ask you to prepay a plan of care.

Why I don’t bill insurance

I’m cash-pay so the appointment stays a full 30 minutes with me, not a short slot built around what a plan will reimburse. I use that time to test which muscles have stopped firing. I don’t hand you off to an assistant, and I don’t cut the testing short to fit a billing code.

If you want to file the visit yourself, I’ll give you a statement with the coding for out-of-network reimbursement. FSA and HSA cards work. Some people get part of the $100 back. I can’t tell you what your plan will pay, because I don’t bill them and I don’t see their rates.

What the 30 minutes is

You and me, for the whole half hour. On the first visit I do an exam to find what’s actually causing the pain, not just where it hurts, and you get treated that same day. I use manual muscle testing, then hands-on soft-tissue work to reset the brain-to-muscle signal directly. No popping or cracking.

Many people notice a change within the first few visits; how far it goes varies from person to person. I won’t quote you a number of visits before I’ve tested you.

How a session is put together, and the rest of the tools I use, is on the Muscle Reset Technique page. There is no twist and no high-velocity adjustment. That is what people are asking for when they want a chiropractor that doesn’t crack.

Prices are not the same across Kansas City

I don’t keep a price list for other offices, and I won’t invent one. A cash visit, a visit billed to insurance, and a prepaid package are three different offers. The number on a website often leaves out the first-visit fee, or how many minutes you actually get on the table.

If you are calling around, ask what a full visit costs, how long it is, and whether the first visit is extra. My answer is $100, 30 minutes, first visit included.

How much does a chiropractor cost without insurance in Kansas City?

At my office the visit is $100 for a full 30 minutes, including the first visit. I don't bill insurance. Other offices in Kansas City charge differently, and I don't have their prices.

Is the first visit more expensive?

No. The first visit is $100 for a full 30 minutes, the same as every visit after it. The exam and the treatment happen in that same visit. There is no separate new-patient fee and no package to buy.

Why don't you take insurance?

A full 30 minutes, one-on-one, is the visit I want to give. Insurance billing pushes offices toward short appointments, and I don't shorten the testing to fit a code. I'll give you a statement if you want to submit the visit yourself for out-of-network reimbursement. I can't tell you what your plan will pay.

Do I need a referral?

No. You don't need a referral, and you don't need insurance, to book. Call (913) 451-7500 or book online.

How many visits until I feel better?

Many people notice a change within the first few visits; how far it goes varies from person to person. I won't name a number of visits before I've tested you.

Can I use an FSA, an HSA, or my own insurance plan?

FSA and HSA cards are accepted. I don't bill your plan. I'll give you a statement with coding you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement. What comes back depends on your plan, and I don't see that number.
