SMS Terms

These terms cover text messages sent from the office of Dr. Ladd Carlston at (913) 451-7500. They apply to patients of the practice who have given us a mobile number. Texting is a convenience we offer alongside phone and email — you never have to use it, and declining it does not affect your care.

1. How You Opt In

We only text people who are already patients of the practice and who gave us their mobile number for this purpose. You can turn appointment texts on in any of these ways:

• • By choosing to receive them when you book a visit online
• • From the link in your appointment confirmation
• • By asking us at the office or by phone

We do not buy, rent, or otherwise obtain phone numbers from anyone else, and we do not text people who are not our patients.

2. What We Send

• • Confirmation when a visit is booked
• • Notice when a visit is moved or cancelled
• • A reminder the day before your visit, if you asked for reminders
• • An offer of an earlier opening when one comes up, if you asked to be on our waiting list
• • Replies when you text us a question about your appointment

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

3. Message Frequency

Messaging frequency may vary. It depends on how often you visit and on which messages you have asked for.

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, according to your plan.

5. How to Stop

To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message from us. You will get one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and then we will stop texting you.

If you change your mind, reply START to begin receiving messages again. You can also call the office and ask us either way.

7. Delivery

Text messages depend on your mobile carrier and are not guaranteed to arrive or to arrive on time. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Please do not rely on a text message as the only record of your appointment, and never use text messages for an emergency — call 911 instead.

8. Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your consent to be texted with anyone else for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
